Rules

GENERAL

The tournament rules incorporate the general rules for the relevant terms and conditions. As the Goultarminator has a unique format, the specific rules for the draft and season 7 of the KTA do not apply.

The Goultarminator is played in Dofus alliances, in groups of 15, on a special tournament server where characters are imported with their own equipment. The tournament consists of a phase of Swiss rounds then a final phase of knockout rounds. The schedule is available on the Calendar page. The rules detail each of its points.

All times are CEST.

Except in cases of insults or provocative behavior, all sanctions will apply to the entire alliance, even if the infraction was committed by a single player. Repeat infractions will also lead to sanctions against the entire alliance.

It is strongly recommended to join the KTA Discord server to ensure you catch all information about the tournament.

TEAMS

The Goultarminator is played in Dofus alliances in groups of 15 different classes. A substitute is possible for each class.

Among the 15 classes chosen per team, there must be:

  • 8 classes from Eniripsa, Feca, Osamodas, Pandawa, Rogue, Sacrier, Sadida, Foggernaut, Xelor, Masqueraider
  • 7 classes from Cra, Ecaflip, Eliotrope, Enutrof, Forgelance, Huppermage, Iop, Ouginak, Sram

The 15 classes are split into 5 teams of 3 classes each, which are fixed for the entire tournament.

There are no other restrictions on team composition, so a team can be formed with 3 classes from the first class group, for example. But make sure you create 5 competitive teams to give yourself the best chance of winning!

It is prohibited for the same player to play multiple classes for their alliance or to register with multiple alliances.

REGISTRATION

Registration will be open from 2 p.m. on June 29, 2023, to 11:59 p.m. on July 09, 2023.

Players must be level 200 and must be all part of the alliance. Only one registration per alliance is allowed.

Registration of an alliance should be done by a player who has been designated Captain. For each registered player, the Captain must provide:

  • Name of the server
  • Name of the alliance
  • The character's nickname
  • The character's class
  • The player's status as starter or substitute
  • Optional: the player's KTA account

A KTA account for each player does not need to be provided. However, only accounts provided at registration can enter results for the alliance.

  • Change the name of the registered alliance
  • Change the username of a registered player (starting player or substitute)
  • Change the class of a registered player

Special feature for the Shadow server: if your character dies between your registration and July 11, 2023, you can :

  • or leave it in tomb and you will have your character resurrected at the time of his death with his inventory

TOURNAMENT SERVER

Participants are imported with their inventory to a special tournament server. The import includes the maintenance data from July 11, 2023. Therefore, participation in the tournament will be with what players have in their inventory at this point in time.

Server features:

  • The only area accessible is the tournament area.
  • Trading is not allowed.
  • Multi-accounting is forbidden.
  • Each participant has access to a stable containing all the mounts in the game. They are all level 100 and chameleon.
  • Unlike classic tournament servers, no equipment or bonuses are given to participants.

Access to the tournament servers opens no earlier than July 11, 2023 and no later than July 20, 2023.

SWISS ROUNDS

The tournament starts with a phase of 9 Swiss rounds where each team has a separate progression from other teams in the same alliance.

Round 1 match-ups are determined by a random drawing. Starting from round 2, teams will be paired based on the number of points they have accumulated. Two teams from the same alliance cannot be paired with each other.

If there is an uneven number of teams in a points bracket, one team will be matched with a team in the bracket below. If there is an uneven number of teams in the lowest points bracket, one of the worst teams will be given an automatic victory (bye).

A team can be a maximum of 10 minutes late starting a match before the match is forfeited to the opponents. A team that has forfeited twice is eliminated from the tournament. Other teams in the same alliance can still continue to play in their rounds.

A victory earns 3 Swiss points, a draw earns 1 Swiss point, and a defeat earns 0 Swiss points. Additional points are also awarded as defined in the KTA general rules.

A victory in fewer than 6 turns (inclusive) is a crushing victory and earns the winners 20 additional points.

The ranking criteria are, in order of priority: Swiss points > Opponents' Winning Percentage (OWP) > additional points > direct result between the teams > best-ranked defeated team.

Two rankings are maintained: one per team and one per alliance that combines the results (Swiss points, OWP, additional points) of all teams.

FINAL ROUNDS

The 8 best alliances in the Swiss rounds qualify for the final rounds (knockout rounds). Only alliances with no eliminated teams can qualify.

Within each qualified alliance, the teams are ranked from 1 to 5 according to their individual scores in the Swiss rounds.

The 8 alliances are entered into knockout rounds with small final in which the no.1 team plays the no.8 team, the no.2 plays the no.7 team, etc. In a match between two alliances, the rank-1 teams play against each other, then the rank-2 teams, etc. The alliance that wins 3 or more matches wins the match-up.

The 1st match starts at 8 p.m., the 2nd at 8:30 p.m., the 3rd at 9 p.m., the 4th at 9:30 p.m., and the 5th at 10 p.m. (all Paris time). Alliances can arrange among themselves to shift these start times depending on the duration of the other matches. If this happens, the discussion must be clear and screenshots must be taken in the event of a dispute.

The match order changes each evening during the final rounds to give equal importance to all alliance teams. The final result will sometimes be already known before the start of match 4 or 5.

In the quarterfinals, the team order will be 1-2-3-4-5 (rank-1 teams play each other, then rank-2 teams, etc.)

In the semifinals, the order is 2-3-4-5-1 (rank-2 teams play each other, then rank-3 teams, etc.)

In the final, the order is 3-4-5-1-2.

The small final is played on 03/08/23 and the final on 06/08/23.

MATCHES

From the 16th turn, the first team to have a numerical advantage wins the match (Golden Kill rule). During the Swiss rounds, the matches finish at the end of the 20th turn, at which point the match is declared a draw.

At the end of all matches, including if an opponent forfeits, the teams must report the result on the KTA website (via the match list of the current round). Reporting false results will lead to sanctions. Only the captain and KTA accounts provided at registration can enter results for all of their alliance.

It is forbidden to leave the preparation phase of a fight while being alone in the team.

If a team wishes to benefit from a forfeit victory due to an error made by its opponents, the team must inform the organization and opponents as soon as the error has been committed. Continuing the match without informing the organization and the opponents about the error means the right to win by forfeit has been waived.

Spectator Mode must stay open during all matches.

An incomplete team at the start of a match immediately forfeits the match.

Teams are free to choose whether the starting player or substitute plays. The first match started with the correct team composition is validated A starting player to whom the substitute has been preferred against their will cannot submit a complaint. Players in disagreement with their alliance and who try to sabotage it by starting fake matches will be sanctioned.

SERVER RANKING

A ranking based on the 3 best-performing alliances on each server is held. Points are defined as follows:

  • sum of the alliances' Swiss Points during the rounds (135 points maximum per alliance)
  • 45 points for each final phase won (maximum 135 points per alliance, not including the final round).
