DOFUS Championship Qualifier 2025

from 23/10/2025 to 06/11/2025

Description

The first major DOFUS 3 tournament is opening its doors!

The event is happening soon: the DOFUS Championship will take place in November, but first, you'll have to emerge victorious from the Qualifier in October to earn your place.

Everyone is welcome to participate in this tournament, which will be held on the tournament server!

This page only concerns the Qualifier.

Prize

6 teams qualify for the DOFUS Championship:

  • The 4 winning teams from the Winner Bracket Quarter.
  • The 2 winning teams from the Loser Bracket Semi.

These teams do not receive any direct rewards, they will be rewarded with warrior tournokens and cash prize based on their performance in the championship.

10 others teams are directly rewarded:

  • The two teams eliminated in the Loser Bracket 1st Semi receive 100 warrior tournokens
  • The four teams eliminated in the Loser Bracket 2nd Quarter receive 50 warrior tournokens
  • The four teams eliminated in the Loser Bracket 1st Quarter receive 20 warrior tournokens

The Organization reserves the right not to distribute rewards to “ghost players” who are registered in a team but do not actually participate in the tournament.

Rules

The complete rules are available here (French, Spanish, Portuguese). The main points are summarized on this page.

General

The turnament is played by teams of 3, with 1 possible substitute. Matches take place on a tournament server, where players have all the characters and equipment they need to take part.

Multi-accounting is allowed.

The tournament is composed of 10 Swiss rounds and playoffs in double elimination for the 32 best teams, the schedule is available in the tab Calendar.

All times are in CET.

We strongly recommend that you join the KTA Discord server so as not to miss out on any information.

Teams and registration

To register for the tournament, click on the Registration button on this page. You'll need to set up your team first, and help is available here if you need it.

Registration is open from 01/10/25 at 4:00 pm until 21/10/25 at 11:59 pm.

Registration is done by indicating a character nickname for each team member. This nickname must be taken on the tournament server.

Since the tournament is played partly with a fixed composition, you must choose the 3 classes of your composition. These classes must meet the following criteria:

Each class is worth points according to the following system:

  • 4 points: Osamodas, Xelor
  • 3 points: Eniripsa, Feca, Forgelance, Iop, Sacrier
  • 2 points: Ecaflip, Eliotrope, Ouginak, Pandawa, Sadida, Foggernaut, Masqueraider
  • 1 point: Cra, Enutrof, Huppermage, Rogue, Sram
  • The team's total points must be a maximum of 7.

The substitute does not have an assigned class and can replace any class. Team members can also switch classes among themselves between matches: the only requirement is that the correct players play the correct composition, without any specific class assigned to each player.

If a teammate is absent, it is permitted to use a secondary tournament account of a player present (this must be named with a nickname similar to the main account).

Tournament server

Access to the tournament server is available to all participants on the tournament server page. Access is given after registration, and it is also possible to join the server via this page without participating.

Server features:

  • The only area accessible is the tournament area
  • Smithmagic is impossible
  • During the preparation phase of a fight, players cannot see their opponents' initiatives

Each participant's access to the server includes:

  • All 19 classes at level 200
  • A full set of equipment useful for level 200 PVP matches
  • A stable containing all mounts in the game at level 100
  • A set of cosmetics for capes, hats, pets, and mounts
  • An alteration granting 1 AP, 1 MP, and 1 Range

Swiss rounds

The tournament begins with Swiss rounds qualifier. All registered teams have 9 matches to play over the first 4 days.

The Swiss rounds system matches by draw teams with the same number of wins and losses in each round. The draw for a round can therefore only be made once all the results of the previous round are known, so during match days teams only know their opponents shortly before the matches.

If there is an uneven number of teams in a points bracket, one team will be matched with a team in the bracket below. If there is an uneven number of teams in the lowest points bracket, one of the worst teams will be given an automatic victory (bye).

A team can be a maximum of 10 minutes late starting a match before the match is forfeited to the opponents. To start a match, it is necessary to be on the correct combat map and to contact the opponents in-game using the nicknames listed on the tournament team's sheet. A team that has forfeited twice is eliminated from the tournament.

A victory earns 3 Swiss points, a draw earns 1 Swiss point, and a defeat earns 0 Swiss points. Additional points are also awarded as defined in the KTA general rules.

The classification criteria are in order of priority: Tournament Points > Percentage of Victory of Opponents encountered (PVA) > Direct result between the teams > Best team defeated.

The PVA is calculated by dividing the sum of all the victories won by the teams encountered by the number of matches played by these teams. For example, after 3 rounds, if the teams encountered have 3/3, 2/3 and 0/3 victories, the PVA is 5/9 = 55.56%. A draw counts as half a victory in the calculation.

The PVA is used to illustrate the difficulty of a course, by giving the advantage to teams who have faced the strongest teams.

playoffs

The 32 best teams in qualifiers are qualified in playoffs. These are structured around a double-elimination combat tree. Everyone starts in the Winner Bracket, where the 1st seeds face the 32nd seeds, the 2nd seeds face the 31st seeds, and so on. The Winner Bracket continues until the Quarters, and the Loser Bracket begins in the Quarters 1 and continues until the Semis 1. An example of a double elimination bracket is available here.

All matches are played in draft and the time specified is the start of the first draft. Teams can be up to 10 minutes late for the scheduled start of the draft. Any team that is not ready on time may be declared to have lost by forfeit by its opponents.

Faceoffs are played in BO3 (best of three matches) format with 20 minutes of preparation time between drafts and matches, except for the Winner Bracket quarterfinals and the Loser Bracket semifinals 1, which are played in BO5 (best of five matches) format with 15 minutes of preparation time between drafts and matches.

Particularities of the drafts:

  • The drafts are conducted on the KTA draft module. The matches of the teams in the final phase will be available on the homepage
  • Help on how the drafts proceed is indicated here
  • The choice of which team is team A and which is team B is made by the teams, with the team with the better ranking in the rounds having the choice of letter for matches 1, 3, and 5, and the other team having the choice for matches 2 and 4
  • The drafts must begin within 10 minutes of the end of the previous match, without any delay possible
  • Not respecting the classes determined by the draft leads to immediate defeat
  • Not being present on time for the first draft means forfeiting the entire confrontation

Matches

KTA players must search for their opponents to start the scheduled matches at the specified time. It is possible to send a private message in DOFUS using the "/w CharacterNickname" command (best solution), or to search for opponents on KTA's Discord server. Player nicknames are available on the teams sheets of the tournament.

At the end of all matches, including if an opponent forfeits, the teams must report the result on the KTA website. Reporting false results will lead to sanctions.

From the start of the 16th turn of each match, the "Golden Kill" rule applies – the first team to have a numerical advantage wins the match. During the Swiss rounds, with the exception of the last one, the matches finish at the end of the 20th turn and a draw is declared.

If a team wishes to benefit from a forfeit victory due to an error made by its opponents, the team must inform the organization and opponents as soon as the error has been committed. Continuing the draft or match without informing the Organizer and opponents of the error waives the right to win by forfeit.

A match for which a valid result has already been announced shall never be started again unless the Organizer decides otherwise.

Spectator Mode must stay on during all matches.

Miscellaneous rules:

  • It is forbidden to invite opponents as a group in order to see their equipment.
  • It is forbidden to leave the preparation phase of a fight while being alone in the team.
  • It is forbidden to leave a match if doing so impacts how the fight is played out.
  • It is forbidden to fix the result of a match.
  • Using deliberately bugs may be sanctioned. You must consult the Organizer if in doubt.
